Well front drive is just retarded for a performance car. I'm looking at going rear wheel for the next car. (New Camaro or Mustang) or maybe all wheel drive. (EVO 10) but right now i'm leaning to the 09 Camaro. I'll keep my skittle just for fun. It still handles it's business better than most cars on the street.

Yeah, launching one is a little more difficult, but it all it takes is more practice. Yeah, I'm really digging the new Camaro, but it's way out of my price range right now. I think my next car will probably be a WRX in a year or two. Hopefully I'll be finacially able to buy an 03-04 one. I don't want to get the 02 because of the bad tranny.

All I was trying to say was that for 100.00 bucks, if not less, you could make the SRT-4 much faster.
13.3 average for an LS1
14.1's average for a SRT-4

we both know they can do a bit better, but for arguments sake, bare with me.

Now, you tell me what 100 dollar mod is gonna make up .8 seconds to make it even, and MORE to make it quote unquote 'much faster'

I know the srt-4 is a easy modded for high horsepower car, but that was a huge stretch of any imagination

So you're trying to tell me a boost controller is gonna shave a whole second off of an ET?

It will if you don't care about your engine exploding!

Yup, stock to stock the ls1 car would destroy the SRT-4. Although all the SRT-4 needs to do is get a boost controller and up the boost to be able to beat him. SRT-4 @ 255 whp should be enough to take him out.
I can see what your getting at but then all the LS1 needs is a lid/long tubes and drag radials and it's a easy mid 12 car. Sure turbo cars are easy to mod, but they launch like absolute dog crap.
Dog crap is a little harsh[:@]I prefer to say it takes alot of skill to launch one well

Maybe a little harsh but it's true. Skill or not a FWD car will never launch like a RWD car. Whats a good 60 foot for your car? 1.7-1.65. I do that ifI spin, I go 1.5x all day. If I had your MPH I would be in the low low 11's. Not trying to start a fight though, I would love to have the top end of a turbo car. That's why in the distant future I plan on doing a turbo on my LS1, but that a year or two down the road. Same really goes for most AWD cars I have seen run, sure they 60 OK, and can do well on a regular radial tire but still they need to be launched off the limiter and I almost never see guys do that.

Wow...are you crazy? You have any proof to back this up? I've raced TONS of skittles, Stage I and II and neither had a snowballs chance in hell. Sure they trap great, usually about what my car did, but they didn't ET for hell.

FWD cars launch like crap. AWD cars launch like crap....unless it's snowing/raining. Anyone who thinks otherwise has never driven/seen a RWD car launch.
