kid at my school has the last body style of cougar to be made 02 i think and he thixs its so bad *** so i think i want to race him can u guys give me how many linx and who wins oyea he is stock w/a manual and i have a 5.o automatic with cai

 

The only time I could find was a 2001 Cougar the body and engine was the same

7.8 0-60 and 16.1 1/4 mile Stock

Your a High 14's low 15's 1/4 mile car. So I think you should handle him pretty easy

 

unless you totally fail at launching, you should have this. He'll have a V6 I guess, he probably wouldnt bother bashing you if he only had a 4cyl. The 2.5L V6 stock puts out about 170hp, (why couldnt ford use this type of technology in their 3.8, an extra 1.3L and only 20more hp...). Anyway, you'll have him by 50hp or so, plus like 100ft lb torque,lol. Make sure you do a brake-stand on the launch and you'll be good. Maybe do a D2D shift to make sure you get the shift pressure you need and the race should end in your favor. Oh ya, dont forget the whole fwd vs rwd. Because you have an auto, he'll prolly have a good chance at a roll, so do this from a dig,lol.

 

you should easily walk on him big time. like the other poster said he has 170 hp and a whole lot less torque.

 

He should run eternity @ pathetic.

 

The Cougar should be just as fast as other chic cars like the celica GT or Tibaron
