if you go from a dig, the WRX will kill you on the launch. I can outrun an older WRX non-sti (03 or so), but I WILL NOT mess with an STI. It should be close if you can launch without spinning too much.
Why is Everyone SOOOO Scarred of AWD.. Yes they can Launch HARD (most dont cause you will break the Gears) and a 14 second car is STILL a 14 second Car.... There is a Kid around here with a 340whp Cobra that wont race my friends STock WRX cause "its AWD he will kill me" SOo, moral of the story, you will beat one from a DIG or Roll...(Roll ALOT Worse) .... YOU run a 13.2 in the 1/4 and your Scarred of an STI?? From a Dig you should take one witha 13.2 and from a Roll you can Destroy an STI/Evo stk.....
+1 I'd take a Rwd car with DR's anyday over an AWD

My kill list has an 03 Z06 on it. Several times. My bro has an Electron Blue 2003 Z06 M6 (stock with a Borla Stinger exhaust). His best 1/8th mile (all I normally race) is 8.25 @ 87 mph. Mine is 8.04 @ 91mph. When he and I ran the last timehe ran an 8.30 and I ran an 8.12. Not a big margin by any means but like previously mentioned, winning is winning. Anything past the 1/8th mile my a$$ would have been toast and I won't touch a C6 Z06 unless I owned one (then I would make sweet love to it) ROFL!

As far as the WRX or the STi... When I was mostly stock I wasn't too concerned with them. They aren't as easy to launch for the average driveras everyone thinks. Sticky tires and the holeshot would determine the outcome of a race between an STi (stock) and a bolt on GT in my opinion and experience.

wrx/sti,evo = punk assed kids
cobra/camaro,mach 1, gt = grown *** men
You can make a muscle car own any of these imports with the proper platform and the proper direction of funding. You can put a bigger turbo and fart can and whatever else to dyno 800whp on an import and I still won't give a shyt. I'll take a 12 sec street muscle car over a 9 sec import machine any day...My dad will recognize all my stangs and even get dirty under one, but if I came home with a supped up import he'd prolly laugh....But his 70 fastback "trailer queen" is why I own a mustang and why I always will....

I know these questions are asked quite a bit, but I haven't been here in a while and just wondering really quick: Would I be able to beat a new WRX, not sti. I raced one a few days ago but I had 3 other people in my car and a full tank of gas, it was only himself. And he didn't really make it clear that he wanted to race so I didn't really punch it, but in a fair race where I really know whats going on, how would it go down?
With great drivers a wrx is a 13.9 sec car at best and with your mods (with DR's) you could run a 13.7 or so. Dont race from a dig with stock tires with those cars as they have awd, but honestly, u shouldnt have a problem.

if he's really built up his car, it can be a close race. if not then you win.

Careful! You just may not have run into an STi yet that would give you a run

As far as STi looks, they're definitely "love it or hate it" type cars. I kind of put my STi into a whole different class of cars. Basically only the interior and chassis are stock now, so I don't even consider it a Subaru anymore.

To the OP... you should be able to take a stock WRX no problem. They're difficult to launch and don't do too well from a roll in stock trim

Yes that includes a 2004 - zo6 not a 2005 + , but I can beat a 2005 + stock vette that happened about two months ago . Him and his g.f were laughing at first but then he gave me the peace sign after i blew his doors off for his girlfriend .
