Not much of a racer here. Have had a couple of quick sprints around town and on the freeway but nothing like 'real.' Anyway was driving with the gf the other night and notice an under construction '70 El Camino. Was fortunate enough (with some clever moves) to pull up beside him a stop light. We both just caught the red light so gave me some time to exchange the 'glance' I am 45 and the dude had to be in his mid 50's. Mind you like I said before the car was under construction. Primer gray but was proudly dislpaying his SS badges. Didn't see the 396 or 454 marker anywhere so may have been a 350???
Anyway, since I just got my windows tinted the day before I couldn't roll down my windows to make any conversation. But, the glance was enough. GF said no you dont, and my foot and the other dude say yes we do. I casually reach over and turn the tcs off, light turns green and we both smoke em. Unfortuntly, I got so wraped up in watching him in my side and rear view mirror I never took note to the speedo. Since the red lights were a 1/2 mile apart and we both went full throttle about 1/2 way would have to say we got an unoffical 1/4 in. Beat him by 3-4 car lengths. Got him out of the hole by at least 1 to 1 1/2 car lengths. Gave me the thumbs up and the nod and I replyed with the same. So were done. NOT.
We both turn left at the next light I promptly smoke him and let off the gas and he trys a drive by. Since I have an auto and was watching his every move I had to time I right to allow for the "I cant make up my mind which gear I want to downshift into transmission' to react to my stomping of the gas. Just as he pulled next to meI just took off again and pulled about 2 car lenght ahead before I had to turn and go home.
This little pony is a blast. Definetly got my juices flowing. Hopefully thiswont become to addictive and lead to a speeding ticket! or two!!
