cobras are overrated.
naw not all cobras, just the un-blown ones. ive beat a 99 cobra. i dunno what i run to be honest, ive raced a 99 gt with full exhaust & intake and i beat him too. i still want a cobra though they sound awesome. his exhaust drowned mine. and i was ahead of him.

Kinda like saying all 5.0 Fox's are slow, not exatly true is it. I for one would love a Cobra, an 03 or 04 would do nicely.

I had a buddy run deep into the 11's with stock heads that he reworked, there is power available in them if you know how to port them properly.

Yea, i know thumper ported E7's can outflow most aftermarket aluminums, but straight from the factory their pretty bad.

. I've raced a 98 Cobra (full exhaust, gears, intake, and a few other bolt ons) I beat him out of the hole (this is before I had the cam, drag radials and drag suspension) on the first race and he caught up with me at around 70 MPHand took me by 1 car length, second race I destroyed him. I was also racing with a few 99-02 Cobras a few weeks ago at the track and beat all oftheir 1/4 mile times, but they were only lightly modded.

my heads are untouched, so is the cam, ive not tampered with anything internally which is why i thought iw as gonna lose. but naw i like the 96-98 body style the best just the gt's are beyond slow, so i wanted a 96-98 cobra but i wouldnt race it if i got it, id put cold air induction & exhaust, header-back and be done with it. but i cant find a cobra so screw it guess ill just be racing.
My 5.0 has quite a few mods in it and is over 500 lbs lighter but can not even come close to keeping up with my Cobra. I have run both cars and the Cobra is 1.2 seconds quicker in the quarter.You must have gotten a lot of power out of those mods.
