I wouldnt really consider this a race, but good job for slowing down and just getting behind him. No matter what Grand Am it was you should have won. The early 90's ones with the quad 4 and a manual tranny ran low 15's stock and the newer 99-05 GT's had 175hp and 200lbs of tq, but run mid 15's stock.

for the record, i did get on the freeway. just behind him. i did pass him on the freeway.

if i was on a quarter mile i would have won, but i needed to get on the freeway and if i switched, my mid section would have hit his front. but this was my first race so if you guys don't consider it a kill then thats fine. i took him up on the offer and the only reason i pulled behind was because i couldn't SAFELY switch lanes. i was ahead until i let off the gas and started breaking to get on the freeway. i dont consider it a loss because if we kept going straight, i would have beat him.

but pperin, i do disagree with the way you view a win. someone has to let off eventually. i was pulling the entire time and he had no chance to catch up.

btw pperin, did you get yours tints done at that place i told you about? how do you like it?
Hey SDguy If you passed him onthe freeway ...... then it's a kill accualy a great one since you backed off got behind and then passed him on the freeway why didn't you say that before. Yes! I did get my tints done at the place you used they did a great job.

ya the grand am's never really came with any big engines for some reason, it would have been cool if they had stuffed a supercharged 3.8 in them at some point, but I guess they wanted to keep the grand prix as their quick sedan

I had an '01 grand am GT, it has a 3.4 ltr V6 with 175hp, but it has the ram air which helps alot with acceleration in first gear. It was a quick car but I've had both and you won and always will. Once it goes to 2nd gear it looses all acceleration.
