I don't think you guys will have alot to worry about with the Camaro. IMO I think it may weigh more like 3600-3800lbs. though I have heard 450 crank hp on those things. I would expect a high 12's car coming from the factory (12.7-12.9 range)
Don't forget they will be coming from the factory with an independent rear also. I'm sure they'll do what they can to make the rearend as stout as possible, but I don't see them being the 60ft kings that the 4th gens had the potential for being. If you ask me, not offering a solid axle as an option, at least, is a big mistake.

The concept car had 20inch rims if I'm not mistaken.....Not a great weight saver, It seems if any of these Camaro guys want great numbers at the drag strip they will have to pick up a set of smaller rims....unless for some miracle there are 20inch drag tires on the market before the Camaro debuts.........Even then sticky tireswith alot ofpower equals cracked halfshafts....lol

Just a little something else new era GM'ers have to contend with....lol

Nah, the production version won't be riding on 20's, I can promise you that much. Everyone seems to like to put big rims on their concept cars these days, but they are expensive and too impractical to be a factory option. My guess is that the production Camaros will ride on 17's, maybe 18's.

Pffft....4th gens are by no means 60ft kings.... seeing what GM has done with the C5/C6 IRS setups...I have confidence the new IRS setup won't be giving anything up to the 4th gens....

Well I hav'nt been there with my car.....but I've been there a couple times with my cousin's GT...Both times it was infested with rice......He lives in Glen Ellen. I stay in Daly City......

Santa Rosa is a cool town....The 4th street mall is nice, but Coddingtown should have a wrecking ball dropped on it...lol

The Bay Area is the gateway to the Orient........So we get alot of Fast and The Furious immigrant wanabees...I think Daly City which is little Manila (according to a survey done has the highest filipino population per capita in the U.S) also has the highest population of ricers per capita...lol

There all around us....all you can do is brush em' off ya like fleas...[8D].

I don't see any street driven C5s/C6s pulling 1.3-1.560fts. But I have seen street driven 4th gens doing so. I could be wrong, but for drag racing a live axle is the best. Not that having an IRS takes anything away from the new Camaro. I'm just pointing out that those owners who do start doing 1/8 or 1/4 tracking with them might not have it as easy as the LT1/LS1 Camaros do.
