i don't know what this is supposed to mean...who cares if the ls3 vettes will outrun stock gt500's. I'm still pissed that people even consider them the same class. Just wait until the camaro comes out with the ls3. It will be heavy like the gto, be no competition for the gt500 (the ls3 model, if that is one of them) and be probably 35k so it wont really be in the gt price range. Then whatever the top model camaro is going to be probably with close to 500 horsepower if not there, will probably be right there performance wise with the gt500, but probably will cost a bit more (keep in mind the gt500's are actually going to cost around 42k around that time). The corvettes should not be compared to the mustangs...that's like comparing the gto's to the corvettes, they are a totally different type of car...

Gotta be the trannies and the top end curve. Cuz the M6 is equal to the GT500 in weight and crank hp.......but the M6 has 100lb/ftless torquethan the Shelby. Yet, they seem to pull similar 1/4 numbers.

I'm fairly confident I could murder a stock LS3 vette naturally aspirated. I would just have to dump a bunch of paper into P/P heads and some aggressive cams, at which point I'd have as much or more rwhp. Unfortuneately, it's not worth $4k to do that, so I will place my bets on traction and driver mod for now!

As you stand now.....Your only chance would be from a dig....A short race at that to stand a chance against an average driver......But I admire your confidence....

Keep in mind suspension, weight transfer, gearing, etc.

High 11s is going to be more rare than a GTO in the high 12s (both stock). I venture to guess that a decent driver will put a stock one to a 12.20-12.40 at 115. Mark my words.

According to the dyno results so far...387rwhp for a stock LS3M6 should be right on par with a LT's,tune.CAI,exhaust LS2......which a high 11 is very managable....WITH A DECENT DRIVER

Your sounding like a GM'er . You put H/C setup as naturally Aspired, but it's still like a Ford guy saying he'll slap on a blower...lol

As per your followup post:
I have seen a number of C6s at the track and these miraculous low-12s that the GM guys claim simply just don't happen almost ever. I've seen full exhaust/intake ones going 12.50s as a best, and stock ones going anywhere from 12.70s-12.90s best (I'll ignore the douche running 15.0flat CONSISTANTLY in his last time I went out to the track, lmao).
Basically, I would stick with my comment that an 11-second pass bone stock will happen about as often as a 12-second pass for a GTO. I'll bet a beer on it...well, you're in the wine country...so, a glass of shiraz instead.[8D]

Is that not exactly what I said though? Aggressive cams in the 3v are good for 25-45rwhp, depending on the source, and P/P heads are good for 35-50rwhp, depending on source. Done together, 60rwhp is a viable expectation, making the first part of my comment correct as well!

^ Low Blow (C6 Vette)
Funny story though. On my 12.63 @ 109.8 run last month, I cut an almost perfect light (.010), and a 1.79ish 60', and because of that, was only ONE CAR LENGTH behind at the 1/8th to the cam/superchargedc5 z06 that ran a 11.3 at 122 next to me!
