its commonplace....but if you see an eclipse(or talon,laser) with a huge wing it most likely is not quick at all...

 

definetly watch out for older talons, eclipses..etc, i drove a 91 talon tsi pretty damn quick. but after 4 months driving a stick... how can u lose traction in 3rd... hell i have to try to lose traction in third to do it.

 

I'm in MI and on my way home in the rain i raced an older eclipse. I heard teh BOV and saw it flyby me on the freeway. When we lined up it was close through 1st and 2nd, he walke dright by me in third though.
Kron's right though, in the winter it's hard to find someone to run. My boy just bought an EVO so we'll have someone fun soon.

 

God only knows lol. It's cold out, and the roads are just a little wet (from melting snow). I'v also got a Mach 1 not a GT. I only get the tires spinning in 3rd if I just hammer the trottle, easing into it some takes care of 3rd. My main problem is 1st and 2nd, I gave up on 1st allready, but I think I should be able to keep traction in 2nd...even in the cold. Despite what I may think whenever the peddle gets to the floor in 2nd the tires break free lol.

 

unless its the stock 97 eclipse gsx wing. huge, but backed up by AWD turbo.

but the older Tsi's are a greater threat. They are simply a better car just minus the newer age styling. And they have a great blow off valve compared to the crapmeisters known as the Gen II BOV's [:'(]

talons always will own eclipses, due to the tiny rear wing. and i agree, 2nd gens suck. i hate my 97.

 

I seriously cannot beileve there are people in this thread with GTs and Mach 1s that are worried about getting next to a talon/eclipse at a light.

My family has owned 4 of these things, 2 2.0 regulars, 1 turbo awd, and 1 1.8L, and they are not fast.

Sure, dump thousands of dollars into it and you can run 12s with a redline launch (if you dont rip out the trans). I can count on the fingers of an amputated hand how many "fast" talons I have seen IRL.
