Actually.. yeah. Its a cam switching setup. Theres basically 2 different cam settings.Per every 2 set of valves there are 2 smaller cam lobes for out of vtec & then one big very aggressive cam lobe for VTEC. Here is a pic inside an B16A head Notice the much larger center vtec lobe compared to the smaller lobes beside it.

I think my first word as a child was "safety" [8D]
I bet you the guy had some turbonators powering that beast... maybe he had VTEC and MIVEC put together to make the fastest car in the world
