Default VTEC?

So the other day I'm on my way to work when I hear a car peel out from the light ahead. I'm interested. I look and see a 99-04 Stang running away. I catch up to him and I hear some other dude in a car with his girl going "Oh **** they're going to race!" As I catch up I notice that this Stang I'm chasing is no ordinary Ford. This Stang came equipped with VTEC. I didn't believe it. It was a 6 cylinder, and he replaced all the pony badges with VTEC badges, and a bunch of VTEC stickers. I thought that it had to be some kind of joke. I pulled up along side this guy at the next light and told him that I'd never seen a VTEC Stang before and how sick it was. He took it totally serious and declined my offer to run because "he liked me and didn't want to embarrass me". He told me how it was a 9 second car.

Anyway, I thought I'd put the word out that somewhere out there you may find a Stang with serious self identity issues. Oh, and it's driven by a really stupid compulsive liar.

Are you f*cking serious? To think this is supposed to be Americas long lived muscle car, the pony, or whatever else people call it. But v-tec badges all over it, what a disgrace. You should have shot him for me and I would have taken the blame. [:@]

Actually.. yeah. Its a cam switching setup. Theres basically 2 different cam settings.Per every 2 set of valves there are 2 smaller cam lobes for out of vtec & then one big very aggressive cam lobe for VTEC. Here is a pic inside an B16A head Notice the much larger center vtec lobe compared to the smaller lobes beside it.
