EVO or STI??
I'm thinking about selling my teg and was wanting some unbiased opinions from some of you guys. I want either an STI or an EVO. I want all wheel drive for the winters. This last year I had a really hard time in the snow and spent a lot of time pissed off. I know the performance favors the STI more, but I think the EVO looks a little better, and I love the look of an FMIC. I'll probably be looking around the 04 models. Does anyone know what each can handle on stock internals? I know STIs don't have the tranny problems that the WRX had, but what about theEVOs? Any big known problem with each?I probably won't get it for a while, I still have to change and fix somethings on the teg before I put it up for sale, just kinda in the planning stages. Any opinons would be great. Thanks, Ramsey.
I would get the STI....I think you should drive both and see which one you like more...I liked the sti more....it has a superior interior compared to the evo, I think subaru would be more reliable then mitsubishi.
My unbiased opinion - I used to prefer the look of the STI over the EVO. But over the past year or so, the looks of the EVO has really grown on me. I actually like how the EVO looks better than the STI now. But that's just my opinion. As far as performance goes, I have no idea which is faster. I lost track of those cars. I gotta read up on them.
When I see an STI, I think of a well rounded performance car. When I see an EVO, I think "high performance" with tons of potential. Also, I remember reading a while back that the EVO has forged internals. I don't know how true this is considering this came from an LS1 guy on an LS1 site, but If it is true, it is definitely something to consider when looking more into buying either one. But that's just my opinion on my point of view on these cars. Like I said, I haven't keptup withthese cars at all.I'm sure someone else will chime in with some more accurate and unbiased info for you.

I'm sure this is something many of the current owners of each went through prior to deciding. Me, I like the PRE '06 STi's better than the same EVO but '06 and newer STi's havethat center grillwhich is fugly.
The STi of any year sounds better, that boxer has a nice note (better than ANY 4cyl IMHO)when coupled with the right exhaust but for '06 and newer the EVO is better looking. The performance is close enough that you can make it your own, who is going to leave it stock anyway?
Since you're looking at '04 STi all the way. No dis-respect meant to EVO owners, those cars are cool too!
