Weird, I've always heard that the STi handles better than the EVO. That's pretty cool though. In reality, they're both so closely matched power / handling wise that it would be up to the driver 9 times out of 10 as to who would win in a road race.

Its easy man. I used to work in an EVO/STI bodyshop.

This would be my pick:

EVOIX MR > 07 WRX STI > EVO IX SE > EVO IX RS

Now, since not many can afford the extra $ to buy the MR, I would just go for the STI. Like, if you are planning to do some medium to heavy modding on the car, then you dont really need the MR. Save that money and get the STi. If the modding is going to be slightly to none, then get the MR if ya can.

btw, I have autox'ed both cars (MR (not the regular evo) & STI), but both were not stock and felt exactly the same. But me and the guys at the shop agreed that the EVO had slightly better handling due to the suspension. What we always recommended was a coilover replacement, and both cars were back to equal.

Id go with the EVO. Its got more of a "racecar feel" that comes with the stiff suspension . The STI is a better DD, as its more comfortable, and i think it looks better than the EVO. But the driving experience of an EVO is slightly better, and thats the most important factor for me.

I'd like to own a Supra, but they are way out of my price range, and were never offered in AWD.

I'm thinking about selling my teg and was wanting some unbiased opinions from some of you guys. I want either an STI or an EVO. I want all wheel drive for the winters. This last year I had a really hard time in the snow and spent a lot of time pissed off. I know the performance favors the STI more, but I think the EVO looks a little better, and I love the look of an FMIC. I'll probably be looking around the 04 models. Does anyone know what each can handle on stock internals? I know STIs don't have the tranny problems that the WRX had, but what about theEVOs? Any big known problem with each?I probably won't get it for a while, I still have to change and fix somethings on the teg before I put it up for sale, just kinda in the planning stages. Any opinons would be great. Thanks, Ramsey.
be carefull, deep snow will still get those particual vehicle's stuck. Id install winter tires, that are narrow and taller , and you should be ok up to 7 inches
