13's from a stock stang is pretty good. Be careful about Fbodys, they run hard pretty easy and look stock doing it. Quite a few down here are in the 11's and more than a few are in the 10's on DR's. Do some work to your Stang and have fun, just be sure to really embarrass those silly import "tuners" with wings and 22 inch wheels...

I remember when I first souped up a mustang. I put full exhaust and 3.73 gears in it. A friend of mine had a 97 camaro with full exhaust but no gears and it was an auto. He spanked me like a lil b!tch. Geez that suked just remembering it.

I wouldn't be too surprised that his 99 beat your 94. 5 years less wear and tear, improvements in fuel injection & electronics, emissions controls, etc.
Slap a set of heads on and do your gears & juice (if you must) and see how it goes. Just remember that he can do everything that you can (although your monthly payment might be lower, allowing you to spend more on go fast bits)

Get a bigger engine and a smaller car, like a 351 or a 460. Lighten your ride, or even better yet get an older 5.0 like a 79-86 and put a hot engine in it, strip out everything you dont need to go faster, and I bet you can build yourself a nice little Z28 slayer, I know I did..

<FONT size=2>To be honest I tougth I was going to win since his was an auto...and I didnt think a TransAm could do better than 13.9 (stock and auto) but hey everyone learns from their mistakes...but I am over it since I have been racing some Mustang GTs and imports on the red ligths..I really smoke them (bad)</FONT></P>
<FONT size=2>Can anyone explain why the 1994-1998 Mustang GT suck? I have seen them do from low 15s to high 15s (stock)...Those are the ones I smoke really easy...I know their engines were underrated..but to that point?</FONT></P>

the heads suck on the 94-98 GTs. That's the big problem. HP killers. 99 up has same engine, better heads and 40 more HP and 20 ft-lbs more torque.</P>
5.0 is tried and true. That's why it is praised. Good old pushrod technology. The modulars will become better praised with time and some better aftermarket options. They rev more freely and should be able to live damn near forever. Time will tell though</P>
