^ That would be a GOOD race. I think the Ferrari would win though. Those things have detuned Enzo engines. But for the difference in cash, it shouldn't be a contest....

 

unfortunately those 599s are not that fast for whatthey are...great car dont get me wrong but an SLR would be a better match

Both the SLR and 599GTB would be about equal in a drag. I'd be interested to see a Z06, SLR, and 599GTB on a twisty course.

They also had a Z06 earlier this year:

1/4 mile: 11.8 sec @ 122mph (the hit 11.7 in a test last year)
0-60: 3.6s (They hit 3.5 in a Z06 test last year)
0-100: 8.3s
top speed: 198 (mfr claim)
Redline: 7000 RPM
curb weight: 3180 lbs

And the specs on the new Mercedes SLR McLaren:

605 ft-lb @ 4000

I dont know how much mr rogors mods have improved his time, but the new 599 looks like perfact competition. However on a track with turns & such, I would think the ferrari would win. They both handle very well, but the ferrari brakes from 70-0 faster & accelarates faster.

Top gear put both the SLR & the Z06 around their track & the SLR is over 2 seconds quicker.

I agree! A modified Z06 really throws everything out the window. I think his car would be a fantastic match for many stock supercars out there. I still firmly believe it would be a driver's race with an SLR... and even the tuned versions of the AMGs and tuned (i.e. Hamann) Ferraris out there.

Either, there no doubting that a Z06 is far cheaper than any of the cars we're comparing it too.
