that viper is gona be retardedly fast

but id still take the z06 cuz i think it looks cleaner

and im praying the supersnake is lighter than the 500

if they DO take on weight reduction ~300lbs (to offest a possibly fatt *** driver) then
as The Nature Boy Rick Flair says:

If the new GT500KR has the weight problems of the current model, I don't think it's gonna be as fast outta the box as the 600+hp Vipers and Vettes. But it'll be cheaper though, and take well to mods though.
I hear that, it is probably about 800-900 lbs lighter.

Vipers are highly modifiable to both Superchargers and Twin Turbo's. It is quite expensive to do, but then again all exotic and supercars are expensive to mod.
Z06 over a Viper? For a daily driver sure, for a race car or if you plan to mod the car Never! Soon as you talk about mod's the Viper will destroy a Z06. V10 can handle way more hp and torque than a V8. Wouldnt mind having a Z06 for a toy as well but if I could afford a 2008 I would go that route over a Vet anyday. Vipers also hold their value better than Vets

I'd rather have a Z06 over a Viper. But the Viper has come along way since 1992 when it had 400hp. I always found it interesting that the Vipers motor was derived from the V10 truck motor. If it wasn't for Lamborghini, that motor would have never happened. They went from producing 50hp/L, to 71.42hp/L.

Modified Vipers are crazy. A Hennessey Viper is one of the few cars that you can buy that can outrun a Veyron. But I'd still rather have a Veyron

Loved my old Viper....only 450 ponies but a blast to drive. And the mileage statement....dead wrong. We got between 22-24mpg on the highway cause the thing was only pulling 1600rpm at 75mph. LOL, of course around town was a wee bit less cause it is mighty hard to keep your foot out of it[8D]

Me too - so I could sell it and buy an S7, a Ford GT, a GT500 and a Corvette SS when they come out.

yep...the viper owners will rule the dynos, car shows, and garage spaces once again...

until the corvette SS or blue devil or whatever GM calls it comes out...then the corvette guys will take back their claim atop the dyno, car shows, and garage spaces...

I just love the fact that American automobiles are coming to the forfront high end automobiles. I'm sure motor trend will say the 911 Turbo is a more fun to drive car that a Viper or a Z06. But how much fun can you have when your sucking down V8 or V10 exhaust fumes all the time?[:@]As far as picking a Z06 over a Viper. They look pretty similar so I'd pick the one the had the best performance number for it's year. This year it's the Vette, Next Year it will be the Viper. I'm all about the numbers.
I think there is more to driving the Porsche than 1/4 mile times. I think the interior, and fit and finish of the Porsche is light years ahead of either the Vette or the Viper. There is a really big reason that the Porsche holds its resale value better than either of those cars.

interesting comment...i think that alot of people assume that with the cost of the porsche, comes superior quality, but i question it in my light experience with them..ive driven a mid 90s 911, as well as a 928. i understand that the new ones are surely MUCH nicer, but when you look at vehicles like the boxter, for the cost, its nota good vehicle...and while that car may handle well to make up for its overall lack of performance, it is still beatable by MANY american made cars...including the mustang GT...any corvette...SRT4s...even those little supercharged cavaliers...

again, im sure that models like the cayman S and carrera are much nicer than the ones that ive driven, but you have to also consider the COST of those models.

Where is Ford in the mix??

+1. If they bring back the SVT Cobra (maybe they should just call it Ford Terminator ) and shove 900 hp under the hood....that would be ****.
900Hp would probably do the trick.
yep 900hp in a 10,000 pound brick. Thats fords way, the more horsepower it has the more it will weigh
