As a Z06 owner, I guess I should be a bit nervous about this 600hp Viper. Truth is i'm not. I see more Ferrari's than I do Vipers so chances of me getting to race one is very slim. But I must say, the damn thing looks good. Mclaren helped design the 08 Viper and improvements in air management, displacement,fuel delivery and timing have resulted in a 600hp monster. They should start out around $83K...8.4L of pure torque..Alright Chevy, you've seen what they got, now it's your turn...

 

I read a few months back that they were gonna go to 600hp. Good grief, what a beast. I wonder how well it takes to mods though

My Wife loves the Viper and wants one, but too bad we cant afford it. Atleast not any from 98 and newer, LOL. I still rather have a Z06 over the new Viper.

 

I just love the fact that American automobiles are coming to the forfront high end automobiles. I'm sure motor trend will say the 911 Turbo is a more fun to drive car that a Viper or a Z06. But how much fun can you have when your sucking down V8 or V10 exhaust fumes all the time?[:@]As far as picking a Z06 over a Viper. They look pretty similar so I'd pick the one the had the best performance number for it's year. This year it's the Vette, Next Year it will be the Viper. I'm all about the numbers.

 

I thought chevy was going to do something with the z06 to make it 700 HP. I was reading they were going to strap a blower on it and increase the displacement.

 

Wow that car needs a drop like whoa! It looks like it rides like a monster truck. That would be the first thing I would do if I was going to buy an $83,000 Dodge

And yep, the Corvette "Blue Devil" SS is going to have a blower and have what, like 650hp? Chevy has already stepped up its game. Where is Ford in the mix??

 

I like the way it looks. I don't think it would be too hard to get a Z06 to run with them.

 

+1. If they bring back the SVT Cobra (maybe they should just call it Ford Terminator ) and shove 900 hp under the hood....that would be ****.

 

900Hp would probably do the trick.
