I made a lameass statement on the 02. My bad. I'm not that up to speed on the pre-03 Cobras. What I meant was that a pre-Eaton blower Cobra to save money since I was recommending the Kenne Bell blower. Its amazing how many 03-04 Cobra owners do that upgrade.

The Mach has a 4v cylinder which can make way more power than the 2v GT. However, the Mach bottom end can't handle the power that the 4v can give, so you end up having to build the bottom end.

Save yourself the trouble... go for the Cobra's forged internals. If I was looking to make more power, I'd get an 02 Cobra and slap a 2.2L Kenne Bell on it.
The Mach has forged internals last I knew, the block however *is* aluminum. The heads are the same heads as the 03-04 cobra is what I'v heard from other people. By the way, there is no 02 cobra, 99, 01 (no '00) then 03-04.
the 00 Cobra was the CobraR

the mach does not have forged internals. and although they are both 4v engines they do not share the same heads.

I have just read this whole thing and i personally think this person is a total jackass... And so is everyone else for replying. I dont really think he was trying to get a REAL opinion. I think he was comming in here and saying that he has a FAST! SRT-4... saying its an 11 second car, going to a high 13 second, maybe a low 14 second car. Then stating MUSTANGS ARE ALWAYS BETTER after the fact.... WOW!

Thanks for seeing eye to eye with me OB!

This guy cannot be serious. If he could get his car into the 11's he would be able to figure out the horsepower of the GT and Mach on his own.
