Default Small improvements getting ready for FFW...

I turned the car up by 2 psi and made about 50 rwhp more accross the board. I was expecting a little faster but turned out I was running on a fouled plug and the car was missing on the top end. I was still able to lower my et by a few hundredths though to a 6.63 @ 104. My 10.50's 1/4 passes have all been when I was turning 6.70's 1/8 times.

I'll be back next week with a fresh set of plugs and I am expecting better. I'm expecting to get it down to a 6.48-6.49 - I only have a 6 point cage, so I'm trying to dial it in as a 10.00 car for FFW on the 19th.

Not bad for a daily driver...lol

Not bad at all for a daily driver. Do you run Irudium plugs? I know boosted cars go thru plugs alot faster than other cars. I was wondering if they were worth the extra expense. I usally just put in a set of fresh plugs before I race.

Problem with these mustangs is all we have are the autolite HTO for a colder plug. Damn things cost $80 for a set. Why the heck couldn't Ford put a standard plug in these things??[:@]

But yeah, I run C16 at the track with the new tune and added timing so 118 octane isn't too friendly on the plugs and so far I've had to change them every 2 trips to the track and it's getting expensive and annoying but I don't have any othr option right now. This weekend I'm going to add the spark-a-boost to my COP's and I'm going to try to raise the gap to a .032. I'm currently running a .028 gap so I'm hoping the larger gap with the new spark output will help them last a little longer and I may be able to go back to the stock plug. We'll see.

Thanks.

BTW: I just found out today that brisk has released their S197 plugs. They are the same heat range as the HTO's but they are a solid 1-piece design as opposed to the autolites 2 -piece design. I've talked to a couple guys have been testing them in big boost applications and they have ben working nice on race gas and big boost.

This is good news for S197 boosted guys. We finally have an alternative. However, the Brisk plugs are still expensive as sin, but at least they may last more than 2 passes...

I have 2 sets coming monday for testing and I'll let the S197 guys know how they work out.
