The 429 has the big block sound and awesome power/torque n/a. There have been some truly awesome Fords with that motor.

I'll agree with a couple of the above comments with one regard....it'll probably take a bit more time/work to get the 429 up and running up to your expectations. The 351 will turn around and hit the track much quicker. As I understand it, the 429s really need a good combo of carb, intake, and cams to turn into a good, strong engine. You'll also definitely wanna get some good headers on that motor also.

Sounds like you're leaning towards the BB at this point. If thats what your heart's set on, start doin the research now and just go for it. As I said, either motor can be worked over to the applications you want. It's just all in the amount of time/money you want to invest in it.

P.S. This poll would be a much easier decision if you had included the 428CJ.

well, i've got my77stang as my engine build advisor, he's built a **** load of these for track apps. So i am relying heavily on him, if it turns out to not be able to handle it on the road here comes the big weinand 8-71 twin screw blower from hell! or a TT setup, either way works for me.

All in All i am probably going to go with a torque montser to crush little ricers around here. My real goal is to have a fox that will dominate the 450rwhp supra here eat vettes make a Z06 think before he races, and make the Vipers look dumb as ****.
But all this is a 3-5year goal....the Supra though is a 1 year goal.

I guess you didn't read the latest C&D that shows that the new Viper outperforms the Z06 in virtually every performance category?

The big block will make an already front heavy car(typical of American V8 automobiles) even front heavier, which will increase understeer and make it that much more difficult to set suspension up for road racing

I understand that, but if my dad's cousin can do it with a firebird, i can do it with a stang......the road racing will only happen like 1-2 times per year, so im not really to worried about that.

Nope, it was in the C&D a month or two ago. The new Viper outperformed the Z06 in just about every category and beat it by a full two seconds on the road course. I see you have an 02 Viper. That is what we had before the Stangs......loved that thing.

LOL im gonna have to change that, its the color of my stang not a real viper.....i've never even got to ride in a viper, the dodge place here doesnt like to have them test driven.....esp not by me, the dealer round here wont let me drive their cars.....cept the ford dealer, they had an 04 cobra with the 2.2 KB sc and my freind called me and said come drive it if you want, i have to get it detailed before it goes on the floor....needless to say i was there pretty quick.
