m3's are pretty fast, i kept up 3 that were trying to lose me in trafic but my gt kept up , i think stock with good driver from a dig the m3 will win by half a car. A really good match would be 335 vs GT vs M3. all drivers races but those 335's get there torque at 1500rpm. Ours was 4500 i think.Intake and tune and its a drivers race. Plus he's got an auto hes not likely to mak a mistake even if he shifts by him self.

is it def an SMG? they do make m3s with a manual tranny
this is encouraging, i got absolutly DESTROYED by a m3 in my old v6 charger, good to see just how much faster my GT is than my last car

RE: 06 GT vs. 05 BMW M3
Stock S197's are relatively fast but with a CAI and good 93 tune(Brenspeed for me) plus just having 3.55 stock gears the car really woke-up for me. I can honestly say my lightly modded S197 would crush my stock version(Not really possible except for track times to compare). They are very undertuned and anyone with a stock S197 needs to get a CAI and good 93 tune. Big improvements for a little money.

RE: 06 GT vs. 05 BMW M3
Does he know he has launch control and the high performance mode is locked away to begin with?
If not follow steps below and see if it makes a difference and go from a dig.
1) Switch the DSC off
2) Select the Sequential Mode S6
3) While the vehicle is stationary, Push the gear lever forward and hold it.
4) Fully depress the accelerator pedal. The engine speed is automatically regulated at 3500 rpm.
5)Release the selector lever, the car accelerates (the accelerator is still fully depressed)
6)Hold on and remember to shift to 2nd at the red-line
Have heard apparently the launch control is set to 1800rpm in the US models due to warranty issues. Over here the clutch does not tend to survive this happening past 30 - 40 times. No idea if the 1800rpm thing is true though.
Sit back and listen to the car accelerate away and think...thank **** for that the broken sounding car is leaving. Can't stand the sound of the M3 and the US model sounds even ****tier due to the emissions crap out there. Also loses some hp because of it. But meh tell him to get a better exhaust on there and free up some of the lost horses the US spec exhaust removes.
