13 = Impossible for me
Went back to Lapeer yesterday for some runs. I was planning on running drag radials but the socket i brought was to thick to fit in the new rims so i had to run street tires. DA was pretty good about 580~590. I could not get any traction, and i tired everything. I played with the tire pressure, i short shifted, i had to keep getting in and out of the throttle becuase of wheel hop but nothing would work. Best 60ft of the day was a 2.306, so there is much to be improved upon. My best e.t. was 14.43 with a lousy 2.522 60 ft. The car was hauling though trapping 107+ with me in and out of the throttle to get out of wheel hop.
Here is how a slip went
Cammed lt1 Me
1.693 60ft2.769
7.703 594ft 9.763
8.217 1/8 et 10.284
87.481/8 mph 86.42
12.761 1/4 et 14.883
107.03 1/4 mph 107.08

Eh, at least you aren't far from Lapeer, so you can go get another shot at it soon.
But I can't help but giggle at those short times man [sm=icon_rofl.gif]
Your trap speed is vicious as hell. Which drag radials do you have on your other wheels?

You might want to crawl around under your car and see if the suspension isn't broken somewhere. If your modulating your clutch properly you should be able to cut a 2.1 sixty no problem. A 2000 RPM launch is the way to go on street tires. No more. A little bog is better than big smoky burnouts at the line. Get some help. Your at least a second of what you should be running.
Depending upon which lane you were in, and what part of the day, hooking up was more difficult. At the start of the day, the right lane was bad, couldn't get a good burnout on the DR's. The left was pretty good. But later in the day the left was slippery as anything, couldn't get the DR's to heat up - they would spin like mad but never smoke and the car would get sideways - I then discovered that the right lane was in better shape.
May have just been your lane choice and the time of day, not necessarily a "driver mod" issue.

Another tip I have is try leaving at idle.This has been my experience to get the best 60 ft time in a FWD car. Use the clutch and gas at the same time and don't let the engine rev over 1,500 rpm until the clutch is all the way out. At 1,500 rpm, the clutchshould be all the way out and you should be at WOT; modulate the throttleto control wheel spinafter that. Almost to the point that you're "bogging" the engine down.Bogging in FWDis much better than super wheel spin. I guarantee your times will come down drastically if you leave from an idle.
