Since both GT's barely beat him(I consider 1 1/2 cars barely) the chances that BOTH Mustang drivers were bad enough that a RSX with CAI and header could keep up like that are pretty slim. Even a bad driver in a GT should be able to put more than that on a well driven RSX. My bet is he had more than he let on. There are a lot of guys around here that do that actually, say they only have a CAI and a header and catback for instance, when they have that AND worked heads, cams, internals, ported intakes etc. It makes for a faster 4cyl than you'd expect, and basically looks like a stock engine

 

What RPMs are you shifting at? If you're not pushing it past 5k before shifting, then there's your problem. An RSX with a header isn't gonna stay within a 1.5 car lengths of a 05 GT.

1. How long is the race?
...if its only like mid 1st gear to 60 or so, thats a fast race, a a car and a half to two cars is jumping him pretty badly.

2. Race from a dig, then we'll really know if your driving is that bad.
...if he's able to keep up with you from a dig to about 100, then it's driver error.. sorry..

3. Unless he's modded with some special.
...I dont konw what it takes to make an RSX a low 100's trapper, but it sounds like he is there if you and your other friend are competent drivers..

 

I totally agree with what ^ saying.

But seriously, an intake, header, catback exhaust, plus Hondata RSX-S could run a high 13 with a good driver, its been done numerous times, so maybe he isnt telling you some things. Plus if your gonna have a header, your gonna have a catback aswell, atleast I would.
