Okay, heres the deal. There's this dumbass kid at our school who drives a brand new auto RSX, not even a type s, and he thinks its the ****. His parents bought it of course. Thats not the problem though. The real problem is, hes getting an Evo in august. Now I can't be having this kid running around in his evo thinking its the ****. Evo's are awesome, but for a kid who knows nothing about them, and get's mommy and daddy to buy it, doesnt deserve one[:@]. So by august, im modding the **** out of my car to be able to take him, hopefully. Here are my plans...
PI heads/cams, PI intake, shorty headers, o/r h-pipe, and an intake. Im getting my gears installed soon, and ive already got a catback. So after these mods i should be flowing great. But i dont think its going to be enough to run with him. Im on a budget so a supercharger is out of the picture for now. But will i be able to stick with him at all, what else do i need??! I have friends that will be able to take him when the time comes, but i want him bad...

SPRAY and some gears. Take everything out of the car you dont need, like AC, power steering, all that stuff. Dont bother with a wimpy 50 shot, get a decent wet kit some stickies wouldnt hurt and then you can make a good showing. Or just start saving for that blower, you can do it if you apply yourself. Get another job or get a lighter car with more power. FWIW I have rich kids whos daddy buys them stuff too. I usually beat them while spending less $$$ and I can fix it myself.

 

Nah... Ive seen nothing impressive what so ever out of the EVO. The ones at the track I go to was running 14's and I believe there was one that my buddy said was built and was running high 12's to low 13's.

With the mods you posted then you should be able to handle him alright if you get the jump and dont have to play catchup. Intake, exhaust and PI setup should have you somewhere in the 265-285 rwhp range. The gears will make a really nice improvement also.

 

Good, i want to make sure i can beat him the first time i race him. I dont want him to get too big of a head. Kids around here dont know ****, except my friends. My buddy has a 01 GT best time 13.8 i think, and another friend with a 96 talon, work in progress. We are going to let him know whats up in august, haha.

 

You need some tires because he is AWD and if you start out spinning then that will be a bad thing. You just have to take the lead spot right away because if he gets in front of you then you may not be able to pull back on him.

 

My friend, with an 01 GT, is getting some drag radials, so if i slip him some cash he should let me borrow them for a night. He mentioned me borrowing them before. That should help, then i could launch from about 4 grand and hook up.

 

With the mods you listed with gears and traction, you should be able to leave him in the dust if he can't drive.

 

I would almost let ya borrow my ride for the night...lol..
