just romped all over a third gen eclipse gts!
Maybe just mature relative to most import guys, who are generally more into making their cars look fast thango fast. Either way, 2g turbo eclipses RULE! [sm=smiley17.gif]
I had a GST Eclipse once, beautiful white with a black top convertable. I loved that car and actually thought it was fast, until I got my as' handed to me by a Mustang...
That was a sad day. I still loved the car though but then had my first daughterand I just couldn't get a car seat into it so I had to get rid of it. Now, I have plenty of room in my Evo for two car seats and it's pretty quick to!
I would never own another Eclipse especially the way they are now.

nick this is OT of the thread but i'm reading your sig. and i'm confused. How do you have a short shifter(unless these are different than short throw shifters), but then you have a shift kit??? to my knowledge shift kits are only found in autos, and shortshifters only in manuals?

Eclipses fell off the map after the 2nd gens, at least for being considered fast cars or potentially fast cars. The evo stole our engine and it was all over.
Good kill though. I'd rather see a mustang beat a 3rd gen than the other way around.

a stock 4G eclispe owns a stock 1/2G (even a GSX would be screwed against a 4G GT)... 3Gs sucked out of the box, i will give you that......

A high 14 and a low 14 is hardly even a car length difference lol. A 1g can see low 14s on free mods. 2g's mid 14's.

I'd say its more than a car lenth. the 2006 eclipse GT ran a 14.6 new and 14.2 after 40K miles. Thats with a 6-spd transmission. If anything, I think the older car "owned" the newer one. becuase after 10 years they are still running the same speed. If you think a 1gs would get "owned" just race a 97 mustang GT aginst a 07 mustang GT.

Not quite sure what your getting at with the rest of your post.
