Modded C6 goes down
Well I just got back from town and had the oppurtunity to run with the C6 Z06. I baited him a little but he didn't bite. What a puss. He probably didn't want to spill his latte.
DEEP dark red color. Beautiful car.

I haven't had the car dyno'd yet. Let me take that back. I haven't had my car properly dynoe'd. I dyno'd a while back on amustang dyno @383 hp and 411 tq. The tuner was a little confused and dismayed as he ex[ected more and so did I. He called me a few weeks later and apologized explaining he had just put the dyno back in the ground (which was true as I saw them pour the foundation) and some of his parameters were off. So he wants me to come in and put it on again with a clutch that doesn't slip with the correct settings.
He dyno'd his bone stock 06 GT and got 245 rwhp which seems a tad low. I don't think he's trying to blow up the number to get bench racing bragging rights, but more to get his stuff together as he had change locations recently.
STS "claims" 460 rwhp @7.something psi with their tune or 550 hp @ the crank. If it's true great, but . . I don't know what kind of dyno that's on, but I'm running 9.5 on high boost with an A/F @11.5-11.8.

I call it modded due to it's exhaust. It sounded like a full exhaust (header back) but I could have been wrong since I didn't get a chance to ask. All I know is the damn thingshook my gutsit was so loud.
My car is down in my sig below @9.5 psi. Don't know rwhp but trap 116-117 in the 1/4.

I say that because the Z51 LS3 MN6 w/ Cat-Back, CAI, and Tune was trapping 119 mph at the track last weekend.
He was going 12.20's but his 60's were 2.0+. The car definately had 11's in it with better 60's.

This is very good info. I'm pretty much done with adding more power for now until I max out the potential of the current set up. The car hasplenty of power to get there, it's just amatter of megetting the time and ability to get there. I've seen some guys trapping 114-115 @11.3.
I'm looking for new, softer rear springs too. WHen does this list end? Never.
JD What kind of gear ratios did you have in those cars?

117 mph trap is good for a mid/high 11 with a 1.8ish 60 foot. My Nova trapped 118 and went 11.4's with a 1.6. My SS goes 11.7-11.8 with only a 113-114 trap due to my 1.5 60 foots.
A new ZO6 will trap 122-124 mph so they have you there, but you might be able to out 60' them and not have them catch you.

That is very funny Bluebeast. And I would love a race with a Z06. Not that I think I would win but it would give a great fight.
Everybody is optimistic with the times they might get but I think after doing some question asking, I think I could get into the 11.80's as it sits now. In April I will go race in Redding when they actually prep the track. I was pulling 1.8 60' last time with a good track and 2.0 with an unprepped.
I'm planning a new Detroit locker with 3.55 or 3.73 gears to be done by the end of this month. I think these gears ( and my new clutch) may give me a few more MPH and could help pull me to the high 11's. 4th/5th gear would slip before where the new 600 lbs rated clutch doesn't slip anymore.

I would never call a Vette owner anything because I firmlybelieve in respecting my elders!

Thread jacker!!
Speaking of Corvette owners, I found a club near me through a Google search. I emailed the president for some info. I basically asked him they were a club of guys that sat around and polished their cars or did they actually drive them. That was 4 days ago - no response. I think I pissed him off

You have now qualified for the next round. Your opponent? Mr. Rogers
Nice run - not all 'Vette owners are dicks. Just most of them.

Anyway my grandfathers corvette used to have a dead battery literally all of the time because it just sat in the garage and he never drove it. I offered to drive it everyday for him, but he didn't think that was the best idea

Keep looking for a Z06. I've beaten a C5 Z06 and a C6 Z06 and the look on their faces was pricless.By the time the Blue Devil hits the streets I'll have convinced myself that an E85 tune with more boost is a good idea.
GREAT kill.
