Bmw makes a superior car period! While staioned in Germany (Military man) I bought a 04 530I which only has a 6 cylinder. Once I returned to the States I had a buddy that had a Lincoln LS which has a 8 cylider. We raced from a standstill. Since I have the sport package with the 6 speed tranny I knew that I would beat him and I did. I got lucky to be in Germany to buy the car because it was dirt cheap. Just imagine being able to do 150 MPH (legally) and getting passed like you're standing still! if If I had a choice though I would take my GT (DON'T TELL MY WIFE)!

Superior to what? I mean what are you comparing it to? I've ridden in (and owned) plenty of cars that I feel are superior to a lot of BMWs that I've been in[8D]

Machs should take the 335s all day long in the 1/4. My intake/tune 05 s197, which is very comparable to the machs, takes my brother's 335 at the track all the time. I have noticed that my 3rd gear pulls very hard when racing him. Past 120 or so, the 335 has got us though, twin turbos and gearing

Great cars, for sure, but if you buy one used, be sure it has the oil cooler (look for extra lines at the oil filter housing).
The early production 335i's (without cooler) can cook thier oil durring hard driving...

I don't know if they would pull past us at 120. That's around where are race ended and he didn't appear to be gaining. Ihear my car can top out 4th around 145 (just guessing) and they both have around the same top speed 155mph

You could very well be right. The 335s are limited to 155 mph with the sport package (less without it). Me and my brother have done some high speed driving together. They have something like 3.02 gearing and are 6 speeds. He was doing 145 in 4th with 2 more gears left, granted 6th may not be able to pull anymore than 5th. The bimmers def come with a better suspesion than we get out the door, so maybe I was just too scared to push the envelop at those speeds. His car is awesome, but I'd never give up my mustang for the 335. If I had a mach, I'd still feel the same way.

LegendLime: I never heard about the oil cooler prob. My brother got his 07 right when it came out, and they do run very hot. They changed the temp gauge to a higher range because a lot of people were bringing them to the dealer saying they were overheating when in reality they just ran at a normal operating temp past the middle point of the guage. The new guage has the normal operating temp in the middle.

Unfortunately for my brother, he destroyed his first 335 by taking a ramp too quickly and crashing into a tree. Fortunately those cars have insane risidual value, he ended up making money off his car( worth more than he owed after a year) and got an 08 335 and a $600 check!!

According to the link I posted they run a 13.6 - not enough to take a stock S197 Stang. But factory FI cars are so easy to make faster. When (if they haven't already) Dinan cames out with a new package for the new 335i, it will take FI on an S197 to surpass it. Take that to the bank.

My brothers stock 335 has ran a best of 13.400 at 103.3mph (mid 13s regularly), though he takes his car to the track very often. He was extremely frusterated that he was only a thousandth away from a 13.3. They are pretty much comparable to a stock s197 like Bickety said. Machs and CAI/tune S197s should have no prob in the 1/4.

My bro is getting the Vishnu tune when he gets his tax returns back.....I guess I have to get the whipple....sibling rivalry, isn't it great.

335s are terrible with the 60'. No LSD and run flat tires, they spin and wheel hop all day. You get a 2.0 60' with a 335 and you are the sh*t
