Yes - stock turbo. The weakest link to making big power with the STI. It just becomes highly inefficient at higher rpms.

 

i understand..my tiny turbo spikes hard, very little lag, but it runs out quick...

 

One good thing I can say about the stock turbo in the STI is that it is virtually lag free. That little bastard spools right up.

Have you run yours down the track yet?

 

yeah...its not fast. the best run of the night was 9.26 8th mile...that was on a cool night, last run of the night...the average runs were in the 9.30s...on run in the 9.40s. the coupler connecting the MAFS pipe to the turbo was cracked, and it wasnt running right, but it was rigged as good as it would get, at the track with no tools...i dont think that 9.30s is too bad, with 120,000 miles, everything stock except for the cat removed, full exhaust, and no balance shafts.,,everything else is stock. ill do something with it some day...

 

That is a sharp car! Man, i wish they would come out with a 2 door charger.
