MPH VS ET

Thanks for the replies. I am a 06 manual, only mod is a steeda CAI. Tune is the canned Stedda one. As per practice, I run quite often, but this track seems to have my number. At my local 1/8 mile track(Phenix City), I run consistant 8.9's, but I can't get anywhere near that at Silver Dollar Raceway in Reynolds. I have ran5 or so near stock S197 stangs there, and outran a couple and lost to a couple. I have not been privy to a stock or near stock s197 running anything lower than a 13.7 at that track, but I am sure someone will chime in different. After looking at my timeslips, I know that it is takeoff that is getting me. My next mods will be drag radials and a short throw shift.
Thanks for the answers/advice.

You'll be amazed how much the DRs will help. I tell everyone that will listen that tires should be your very first mod if you plan on racing at the track often.

Even 8.9s is still fairly crappy for a S197. Your ET is slightly low but all your missing time is from the 60'. 2.2 in a stock S197 is kind of bad, considering they have a pretty good suspension setup. Cut it down to 1.8-1.9(on the stock tires) like I've seen some of them do and your instantly looking at like a 13.4 without any shifting improvements.

Just wondering what stock or CAI 3v S197's are running in the mph range in the quarter mile....I am running 102 but my et is crap. I know part of the problem is my 60, which on street tires is 2.2. For example, today I ran a lightning which ran a 3.2 at 100....i ran a 13.9 at 102. Is the issue traction, or do I need the driver mod?

It also requires a below sea level density altitude and a very good driver.
The best CAI/Tune only I know of is a 8.2 @ 85 and 12.7 @ 108 on a 1.8 60'. Thats on stock Pirellis,
Technically he has suspension (Steeda Lowering Springs and UCA/LCA) but he actually cut a better 60' before the suspension.
12's are fairly easy in a CAI/Tune car with a decent driver and good air. Ive ran them with 60's as bad as 2.02.
102 mph should be good for a 13.3-13.4 on a 1.8-1.9 60'.
