Well I was going to the grcoery store and A car was trying to catch up to me. I saw it form the front back and noticed it was a cts but I thought it was a v6. He's about 1 1/2 car behind me and floors it when his front tires at my rear is when I floor it and we stay like that for a while but he falls back like almost 2 feet. I was like DAM those v6's are fast. Then this guys pulls next to me and says nice car what did you pay for it I said sticker price was 30k. Hes thinking its aoriginalSaleen. Then hes like ya I got the z06 engine(c5z) and made it to 420hp. I said thats cool. I asked if he wanted to race he said sure and I was in 2nd at 33mph and without warning he floors it and I didnt want to go to first thinking it would waste time so I floor it in first and He got like almost a car length jump but he ends up only a car and a half ahead. He said he noticed I wasnt ready but is like wow hp does it have to keep up i smiled and proudly said 300. Hes like ya but its very light I said NOPE with me it should be 3800 pounds, he had a face like he was ashamed of his car. We fooled around a bit and that thing pulled very little in 3rd but sayed still most of the way. We didnt get to race evenly to call a victory to either side. But Im guessing he was a crappy driver or that cars not so impressive. With that guy driving from a dig I think I would Have won racing a 1/4 mile by like half a car to a car. NOW IM NOT saying I can beat the car but with that guy driving it I would have. I was VERRRRRYYYY proud of my car. What does a cts-v run anyway on a 1/4 mile? He said wow that things very imprssive, he thought I was suppose to win if we raced. I dont think he knew much about car or was afraid thinking wow its a saleen it must be super fast. Everyone lately is afraid of racing me thinking I have a jet engine in it from Saleen. Like that one guy has in his sig "if you cant beat em, scare em"THATS ALL FOLKS

I hear stock they should be good for about mid to low 13s with a competent driver. I say you beat the driver and not the car, either way good kill.

 

I cant think of his name off the top of my head.

Oh, and I'm almost positive that the CTS-V came with the LS2 not the Z06 engine.

Sorry, the 1st gen CTS v came with the LS6(c5 Z06 engine), and the 06-07 models got the LS2.

 

You'd beat him from a dig the way they are set-up, but from a roll he should've edged ahead slowly. Nice driving, those cars are on par with a S197 ET wise, give or take accordingly.

 

I expected to lose by 2-3 cars but on one run I was gaining on him around 90mph. I like those cars, I thought they were a match for the 6.0gto but seeing what it was and intake/tune and pullied gt should br a good match for it. It was terrible in 1st and most of 2nd. From a dig I would have beaten him. I dont think I can beat the car at all but I can beat the driver. Thats how I win 85 percent of my races because everyone sucks at driving. They even suck at driving auto's. Like I said before Im a stock GT no mods only a saleen exhaust and Its an auto. I hit the limiter racing that guy twice because I was paying attention the the road more. I mess up too every now and then but most of the time I drive it right just some minor mistakes. Its a stock auto gt but I can drive my stock auto gt to its fullest.

 

hmmm...I would have expected more out of the CTS-V. They older ones had the LS6. I really like them.....black CTS-V= ultimate performance luxury car IMHO.
