We have a 05 Grand Cherokee but ours has the 5.7. From all I gather the 4.0's don't do any better on fuel than the 5.7's plus mine has the deal where it turns into a 4cyl when your just cruising, it does help on the highway.

IMO you shouldn't mod the car you have... but then again I'm not a gung ho V8 guy like most here

I would say since you already have the split port 3.9L... a TLOK and steep gearing would be the first thing I would do (a v6 auto? I would give it 4.30's, but that's just me)

then give it a 75 shot, a dyno tuneand DR's and you "should" have a car capable of beating a same year GT... bolt on's are basically a waste of money on your platform, go FI or go home... a stall would make it all the more brutal off the line

I would do what Morbid is talking about. The best thing to do if your $$ is limited is to turn it into an 1/8 mile car or something. Steep gears, big stall, Tlok, tires, and spray.

Or U can save your money for a better platform to start out with.

The 3.5 Altima's are pretty nasty. They're low-mid 14's depending on trim and year model. Even the 2.5 cars are low-mid 15's.

Also, just out of curiosity, how does the owner of a car driven mostly by girls call another person a ***** because of their car??????

what morbid suggested was to get a lsd of some sort for your rear axle so you can do 2 wheel burnouts...it really is for better traction, gears so it acceleerates a little faster, some nitrous oxide ie. zex or nx, a dyno tune to make it all work properly and drag radials( a DOT approved street legal tire designed more for dragracing).
Since you have 10k IMO you would be better off just saving a little more and upgrading to an older GT or like an '05 TQ Monster. That will probably give you enough GO to keep you happy till you save up for mods that will help and be safer.

believe it or not, 7.5 tloks are capable of having the spiders blown out on bolt on SINGLE PORT (94-98)

full exhaust with LTs
4.10 (they dont make 4.30s for the 7.5[>:]) and a detroit true trac
VMP SCT tune
SSM Eaton M112 adapter +blower and dyno tune

~3k for 330 rwhp

btw, you could of been in a GT and he still would of beat you

depeding on the area, but its only the FFRP parts that are weak, a true trac or a eaton in a 7.5 and a girdle is actually stronger then a stock 8.8 but then you go to the build the 8.8 and its stronger and ya ya ya.............[8D]
