Stock GT Launch
Hold the ebrake with one hand on the wheel. Push the clutch 1/4 of the way in, gas about 63% and the brake to about 36%. When your ready to launch just giveit a quick slam on all four elements and you should be shootin about 1.6 60's.
All jokes aside, rev to around 2500-3k with the clutch in, ease the clutch and begin to give it more gas based on traction.
at the track your gonna wanna rev a little higher

Thanks. I know this is a rather n00bish question but I wanted to be clear on what starting rpm point I should be working from and wether I should be slipping the clutch out or not. Definitely sounds like slipping it will be a lot more productive than just dropping it out. I'm assuming even more so given the stock pirellis.
My best launchcame at 6000 rpm but the track was really tacky that day.
(I do have a CAI/Tune/Driveshaft but stock tires)
The clutch wont lock on my car as quickwhen I releaseit from over 4500 rpm.
Thats not a side-step just a slightfeather as I come out. All out within a couple of feet.
Usually a good place to start is 3000 rpm. If you spin hard feather more. If its "soft" feather less. If it bogs raise the rpm.
Scott C's 1.84 60' on a Showroom Stock Car came with a 4500 rpm launch and feathering in the clutch rapidly.
I have a 1.92 on a slow feather and roll in from 4500 rpm. Slick Track.
I have a 1.89 on a "constant throttle" (ie bring to 5000 rpm and release clutch with no additional throttle) and then rolling in when I sense it starting to hook. Moderate Track.
I have a 1.85 leaving at 6000 rpm on full throttle and slipping the clutch about 1 revolution of the tire. Tire "screeched" about 3-4' but never really "Spun". Tacky Track.
You may need less rpm. My car is unusually prone to bog.Just try the different techniques and see what works for you. Dont be afraid to try different techniques when track conditions change.
Practice, Practice, Practice! It took me 50 passes to get the 1.92, 100 passes to get the 1.89 and 200 passes to get the 1.85 (although I had three 1.8'sand four 1.9's the same day). It took the guy that set the 10.98 Showroom Stock C6 Z06 record 500 passes to get their.
Scott C ran a 1.84 on his 4th pass in the car. Some people are just naturals. The rest of us have to work at it!
