rx7 acquiesced
took on a twin turbo era rx7 on the freeway today. i was coming up on a string of cars in the fast lane doing about 65 mph. changed to 1 lane over to pass the group and when i got to the point where i thought it'd be ok to move over i noticed the lead car (rx7) had moved up quite a bit - his front bumper at my door. not thinking much off it at the time, i dropped it to 4th and mashed the gas. now with a **** eating grin on my face i looked over and... damn, dude was still there and GAINING. apparently he was wanting to RUN. i then deciced to give him the middle finger gear (3rd) and it was on. taking my car to redline at which point i had a solid 2 cars on him. I then shutdown on fear of death as we were coming up on traffic (though i had enough room to coast down to traffic speed). mr rotor gave me a minor flyby, and looked hurt.
nice kill but im just wondering how you knew it was TT and what year was it the newest of the rx-7's before they were ended and turned into the rx-8 or the early 90's late 80's ones.
what do you have to your car?

as for changes to my car, not much, but they are effective. under drive pulleys, mass air screen removed along with silencer, engine oil cooler, lightly ported stock throttlebody & plenum, weld in dynomax turbo mufflers.
i don't know much about rx7's truthfully, but i'm sure it was a sequential turbo model from the mid 90's just by the looks of it, i've always like that particular car. it was alot of fun.

i purchased the kit marketed by ford racing, i got mine from summit for $120. the problem with that kit is that the sandwich adapter is for a 302 block so i tracked down an equivalent part from sean hyland mortorsports for $60.
the shm part is of much higher quality but does not have the ball bearing type thermostat seen on other parts. but it looks like it was meant to flow some oil.
you'll actually see a small power increase after installing it at the expense of efficiency.
