Weight (300lbs, or 3 tenths), powerband, and the HP is going have more effect than torque considering they went from a 10mph roll. Look at the trap speeds between the two cars as well.

This one isn't bonestock, but I guess it gives an idea of what they put down.

Maybe so, but where are you getting 100lbs = 1 tenth? It's usually 150-200lbs = 1 tenth. Although that seems like a small difference, it's pretty huge in drag racing.
I'm not %100 on where or how that equation was brought about, all I know is that it's pretty much a rule of thumb. Drop 100lbs, gain a tenth...

I've heard the same..
Rule of thumb every 100lbs lost = 1 tenth and every 10hp=a tenth

I've always heard it was 15HP=a 1/10th but It seams to me the weight of the car has to come into play somewhere. It's hard to imagine that 15HP is going to benifit a 3700 GTO as much as your 2900 pound Cobalt.

No doubt BB, the weight+10/HP thing has always thrown me off too. I'm sure someone has an explanation.

Good point....That formula of evaluating hp/ET's is different not just on the weight of either car, but also changes when comparing cars with big power (say 500whp+).....For example- A car with oodles of power will suffer much more wind resistance throughout the entire race at any given point....I'm not speaking through experience here....just a logical conclusion....If I'm wrong, I'll take the flames....[8D]

this looks strikingly similiar to a car already around...

leave it to dodge to make a girly looking clone compact SUV like the vibe, throw and ULTRA COOL hoodscoop on it with a SRT 4 motor..well I gues women need some fast rides too.

Thats not very nice![8D]

In all seriousness, you can do that with alot of rides...compare them with lesser models, pick out the similarities, and make them look bad.

hah yeah I just saw it for the first time in forever & thought right away it looked just like a vibe, but just more aggresive/sporty. I know there are a lot of cars out there to do it with, but they look just too similiar for me.

They are soooo fugly! I at one time was considering a Neon SRT4, but you couldn't pay me to drive in that fugly thing! Vibe's have always been ugly. Why the hell would Dodge copy that platform?!

^^^^ I could pay you to get smoked by any SRT-4 J/K, to each its own man. At firsti did not like them either, but they have grown in me plus they are fast for cheap
