is this guy crazy

Fox's were high 15 second, low 16 second cars stock. New Edges are low-mid 14 second cars stock. He would need enough mods to make up for the more than 1 1/2 second advantage you have right off the bat. Unless you are a horrible driver, this should be a cake walk!
I gave a fox vert with full exhaust, intake, tune etc a huge headstart (probably a good 4-5 car headstart), and still blew past him like he was standing still!

That's funny I saw that was 100% bone stock ( I know this as a fact because the car was only a few days at the time) go 14.5-8 on several passes. I also know of a bone stock 95 GT that went 14.8 and those were heavier and slower on average than the Foxes.

There is a HUGE fluctuation in times for the foxes. I could see an auto GT fully loaded taking 16 seconds to go through the quarter mile, if it has 2.73 gears. Then again, I could see a notchback five speed plain jane with 3.27s dashing it in very low 14s, and some could POSSIBLY see very high 13s powershifting with a great driver. It's all in the rear gear and transmission.
Foxes were only a few tenths behind the New Edge GTs. The differences between their convertibles and coupes/hatches were bigger than in a SN95. Was that vert an auto (with probably long *** 2.73 gears) that ran in the 16s?
i have a 89 lx vert, prob is about 3300lbs (if it was a gt, it would be 3400+)
i use to have 2.73 gears, and man they where bad, car would shift into second gear at about 55-60mph!
i now have 4.10's and i get out of first at about 35-40mph.
i have no track times yet, but as soon as i get some better tires, we will see what it runs.
foxes where just so different.
take a lx notch, 5speed, and the 3.27's and youd be surprized what they run, being that they are prob 3100-3000lbs, all you would need is some good tires, and i bet you could get into the low 14's easy
