i dont know who was talking about this earlier, but u mustang guys are nuts.the camaro and firebird have been killing all mustangs from the factory except the s/c cobra, which i have seen beaten by an SS with an LS1 and 4:10's. 4.6's are terrible, the 302 was better. i have a lot of friends with the 4.6 gt, and i kill them, by 5-6 cars all day. the LS1 is way faster than any non supercharged mustang, i've even beat them with a lot of mods, ie heads, cam, intake, etc. i have a catback exhaust, 4:10's, centerforce clutch, CAI, and BFgoodrich drag radials, which are only used on the street. my best with a 56000 mile 98 z-28 6spd was 13.0 @109 on slicks. that is faster than any mustang. the last 2 03 gts that ran up at the track with me driving, and i have been doing this for over 10yrs, was a 14.25@97mph with a 1.9 60ft, with my tires under it. All the trash talking should stop, u all should accept the camaro and firebird, not the LT1 but the LS1 beating mustangs. I have even raced a supercharged 4.6, aftermarket, and beat him by 4 cars on the street w/street tires. ANY mustanh owner with similiar mods is welcome to come here, and my buddies and I with LS1's will be happy to take your money! Maybe we should race for pink slips, we all need winter cars out here

Im not a big fan of the 4.6 but sometimes being the fastest isn't always everyones goal.
I am just happy to have a car that looks ok, has power if I need it, sounds great, Is the color black,has a vert top, and most of all- has an american v8.
Something that makes it had for me to really like the firebird/Camaro is that it's no longer produced

But right now, there is no new ta/camaro all there is is the gto, and vett. I am very upset with GM, its like they have given up....
Look at LS1 tech in the thread about the shelby, all but 2 ppl in that 3 page thread said they are starting to or have given up on GM. After gm waits 2 years or however long, they are going to have to come up with something unbeliveable to save themselfs. And I just don't see it happening, their design has just got worse and worse.
So i guess I made a mistake. its not that I don't like them, its that I can't like them, I like the old type you have and all the other ones except the forumlas...
And the fact that they are no longer produced makes me not like gm.

WTF?? Race for pink slips? You've been watching to much 2 gay and 2 curious. Second of all i dont know much trash talking on here. Us 4.6 guys know your all mighty 350 is a great motor. We just drive something else. You dont need to come on here and accuse some of us as to trash talking. I have a lot of respect for the LS1's i just personally dont like them. I was looking to get a TA before i got a mustang. I couldnt find one w/ a clean title for a reasonable amount of money. So i got myself a 4.6 instead. We've had this talk before on here. Compared the 4.6 and the 5.7 so we dont need your BS.

It's all about the ride man... I've driven a 95 'maro Lt-1 (i know, SCREW THE LT-1 GO DRIVE AN LS-1) and a 01 6er stang, and I just flat out liked driving the 'stang more, had a better feel to it. I'd still drive an LS1 in a heartbeat, but i'll be happy with my nice 4.6 once I get her come summer . I guess I could really feel that "driving a bathtub" feeling in the camaro. I probably wouldn't be able to get used to it unless she was equipped with some t-tops.

It appears that he is in the USED car market not the new. He doesnt own an 05 GT or a new anything from what his sig says. I dont really care if GM makes another car or not. I have to wait untill cars are 7 years or older before I can afford them. Seems to me that our new friend is in much the same situation. That is like me saying I dont like Pantera's because they dont make them anymore or Cobra's because they arent building them.
The nice thing about the LS1 is that it makes a great daily driver and can be made fast enough to get kicked off race tracks for next to nothing compared to Honda's and Mustangs, and get decent mileage while doing it. If you want to dislike them because of no new ones being built, then okay but there are plenty of other F bodys out there built since 1967 to be wary of or point and laugh at.
The nice thing about the LS1 is that it makes a great daily driver and can be made fast enough to get kicked off race tracks for next to nothing compared to Honda's and Mustangs, and get decent mileage while doing it. If you want to dislike them because of no new ones being built, then okay but there are plenty of other F bodys out there built since 1967 to be wary of or point and laugh at.

my car has been in my family since 1988. Which is not 7 years old its 17 (I may not have logic but you don't have basic math skills) and there is still nothing wrong with it. No I could not afford to buy a new car, my parents might be able to finance one if they wanted BUT They don't want me driving a new car for my first car AND neither do I, Infact, ill be happy with it for a long long time.
I don't know what a pantera is. unless you are talking about offshore boats (which your not because they are in buisness)
