Your Legacy is keeping up with an LS2 GTO?

Is the GTO driver informed hes is racing you?

I can't see your car really hanging with an LSx powered car from a roll.
like i said i can beat my friends stock ls1 camaro and he never starts gaining on me even at 100+. However, i did have a 200 lb passenger while racing the vette and he was by himself and it was 88 degrees which kills my car. Is it possible he could have had an intake and possibly a 93 octane tune and still keep the car from being really loud like most modded vettes are? oh and the vette was a manual transmission for what its worth
Roll races are all about trap speed. Stock LS1 cars usally trap in the 106 to 108 range. Very lightly modded STis (270HP) usally trap much less but run similar E/Ts because they have the advantage of an all wheel drive launch.

haha very funny. but i just kept up with him to about 90-100 mph. i have no doubts that as soon as i shifted into 4th gear (103 mph) that the GTO would walk away

yea i just still dont get how the ls1 vette pulled so hard on me when stock ls1 trans am's and camaro's cant even pull on me. Maybe the other LS1's ive raced in the past were auto's or ****ty manual transmission drivers. Ive pulled on 2007 350Z's, stock ls1's, a stock STI, a stock 335i and a modded S197 GT. thought a near stock C5 vette wouldnt be much different...guess i was wrong

are you sure you didn't race an LS6 Z06? There isn't that much that sets them appart appearance wise for that gen, in which case I would say he was playing with you

LS1 C5 and LS1 Fbody are dead heat through though 1/4. Up top the C5 will pull awayespecially the manuals.

If the Vette had Nitrous I would assume that he would squeeze much before 100mph.
how would a LS2 GTO A4 compare to the LS1 C5? because from 50-100 mph i am about dead even with the GTO

95% of the time a C5 will win that battle. The weight and the aerodynamics helps the C5 out quite a bit.

i find it hard to believe you hang with a ls2 gto from a roll. but you never know. the vette should have beaten you as he did. i know your car is fast but on roll races at high speed you should lose to both cars.

hey everone is entitled to their own opinion, but let me try justify what i said. and you should also know that my car has 270 awhp, which with subaru's 20% drivetrain losses that translates to about 335 hp. and keep in mind that my car only weighs 3300 lbs so my hp/weight ratio is very good compared to the cars i mentiond. so lets break it down:

ME: 335 hp, 3300 lbs- 9.851 lbs per hp
335i: 300 hp, 3500 lbs- 11.667 lbs per hp
LS1 Camaro: 325 hp, 3500 lbs- 10.769 lbs per hp
STi: 300 hp, 3200 lbs- 10.667 lbs per hp
LS2 GTO: 400 hp, 3800 lbs- 9.5 lbs per hp (ok its got me beat but not by much and the only reason i hung with him was because the race was short and he had an Automatic. He wouldve pulled away for sure if we had more room)
C5 Corvette: 350 hp, 3200 lbs- 9.143 lbs per hp
2007 350Z: 306 hp, 3300 lbs- 10.784 lbs per hp
S197 GT: 300 hp, 3500 lbs- 11.667 lbs per hp

and keep in mind alot of these cars come in convertable versions which can add almost 200 lbs onto the curb weight. and do you think STi's can keep with these cars? because back when i got my car dyno tuned there was an stock STi that was on the dyno before me and it put down 238 whp. So with 30+ more whp than an STi i would EXPECT to beat cars like LS1 Camaro's, 335i's, 350Z's, etc. Also, you might want to keep in mind that the Legacy GT comes stock with 4.11 gears

But taking a closer look at the C5 vette i can start to see why he beat pretty good especially with the extra 200 lbs i was carrying. I was just a little shocked when he pulled away rather easily after being a dead heat to about 90 mph.

I'm also going to say weight/aero. I may have to go and buy a vette one day. They (along with the little 4.6L mustang) just do so much more with so much less.

Hard to overcome a lightweight/very aerochassis with muscle...
