Btw, i really like your car. I've contemplated buying a subie MANY times! I've had a few boosted imports, my first being a Dodge Omni GLHS in 87' and last a Supra turbo in 01'.

My STOCK LT1 with only exhaust was in the high 13's on a 95 degree day. I'm not seeing this race at all. Maybe he was messing with you. If I had that vette and you rolled up on me, I'd play with the throttle to mess with you. I mean it's a clean car and all, but with that power, even with your weight, I'm not seeing it.

ur right stis are fast but stock 4 stock in a quarter mile or more a ls1 will beat a sti.[sm=sorry.gif] and 411s should help but dont all wheel drive cars lose 15% power after 60 or 70. by the way if it was a ls2 vette he really was playing with u.[sm=signs007.gif] either way honorable death and sweet ride.[sm=Flahssssss.gif]

I agree that if he sprayed you, he probably would have done it a lot sooner than 100. I think his aerodynamics and powerband probably helped a lot. I wouldn't see it as a bad loss, even the C5s were stout.

the legacy has the same mods as me except hes in AZ which means hes running worse gas so i would have a slight advantage. But yea the legacy races a bunch of LSX videos including an LS1 Trans Am. Fast forward the video to 2:00 and you will see exactly what my car does to an LS1 trans am/camaro

Peak HP/weight ratioisn't always the best tool for deciding who will win a race. A lot more factors come into play torque, powerband, HP at the wheels etc... Your are at a huge disadvantage to the vette from a roll. You may have 335hp at the crank but you only put down 270. The vette puts down 300+rwhp so as speeds grow he is going to pull you harder.

hey everone is entitled to their own opinion, but let me try justify what i said. and you should also know that my car has 270 awhp, which with subaru's 20% drivetrain losses that translates to about 335 hp. and keep in mind that my car only weighs 3300 lbs so my hp/weight ratio is very good compared to the cars i mentiond. so lets break it down:
ME: 335 hp, 3300 lbs- 9.851 lbs per hp
335i: 300 hp, 3500 lbs- 11.667 lbs per hp
LS1 Camaro: 325 hp, 3500 lbs- 10.769 lbs per hp
STi: 300 hp, 3200 lbs- 10.667 lbs per hp
LS2 GTO: 400 hp, 3800 lbs- 9.5 lbs per hp (ok its got me beat but not by much and the only reason i hung with him was because the race was short and he had an Automatic. He wouldve pulled away for sure if we had more room)
C5 Corvette: 350 hp, 3200 lbs- 9.143 lbs per hp
2007 350Z: 306 hp, 3300 lbs- 10.784 lbs per hp
S197 GT: 300 hp, 3500 lbs- 11.667 lbs per hp
and keep in mind alot of these cars come in convertable versions which can add almost 200 lbs onto the curb weight. and do you think STi's can keep with these cars? because back when i got my car dyno tuned there was an stock STi that was on the dyno before me and it put down 238 whp. So with 30+ more whp than an STi i would EXPECT to beat cars like LS1 Camaro's, 335i's, 350Z's, etc. Also, you might want to keep in mind that the Legacy GT comes stock with 4.11 gears
But taking a closer look at the C5 vette i can start to see why he beat pretty good especially with the extra 200 lbs i was carrying. I was just a little shocked when he pulled away rather easily after being a dead heat to about 90 mph.
