because WRX owners all think they have the most amazing cars... just read their forums sometime.. It's typical..
It's pretty typical of every car forum I've ever been on, and I've owned a lot of cars.

more like 3200 lbs.. and your mustang is only 3500.. 300 lbs difference can be made up with 30hp.. if you are quoting 3100 because tahts what your title said it was dry weight.. or if you weighed it must have had weight reduction

RobertJ is who i was talking about.. 3488 for an 06 GTmanual. 06 manual wrx wagon is 3252 and the sedan is 3180..

between the wagon and the mustang GT just get a skinny guy with tire/jack removed and a fat guy in the wrx wagon and they are nearly the same weight

So you're calling me out for an 80 pound discrepency and in the same breath saying 308 pounds is no big deal. Am I missing something here? Listen, I'm not going to get into an Internet arguement. You're entitled to your opinion that all WRX owners on Internet forums think their cars are the fastaaarrr, and I'm entitled to tell you pretty much every Internet forum is typical of fan boi behavior.

i was actually pointing out that the wagon is 152 lbs heavier than you stated.. depends on which one the guy owns.. basically.. the reason I want to rip on a 300awhp car is because the guy is running his mouth about being so fast.. 300lbs yeah.. that isn't a lot but it does make a difference.. people call the srt8 charger a pig at 600lbs more than the GT that is a pretty notable difference.. now 300 lbs.. a 250 lbs guy vs a 150lbs guy means you lose 100 right there.. lose another 75lbs with basic weight savings and there is hardly any disadvantage left.. so yes.. I would say 300lbs isn't a deal breaker.. 500+ it gets harder to make up that weight difference w/o adding more power.

You're too funny. I guess if a guy is 250 pounds in the Mustang versus 150 in the WRX (more likely btw... LOL) the Mustang guy is screwed. Last time I checked, a guy with a WRX can do basic weight savings too. You're just determined to win this arguement.

Look, I love my GT, but there's a lot to be said for the AWD grip and weight savings of a WRX. In some respects they're actually easier to modify and there's a huge amount of aftermarket support for both vehicles. Both cars are a lot of bang for the buck. Honestly, the way you're going you're just as bad as the fan bois over at clubwrx.net and nasioc as you can't seem to find anything good about the WRX. I appreciate all performance cars for what they are. If you think a 300 AWHP car is not worth bragging about, then you've got issues.

Whatever...

hehe.. my friend and coworker has an 05' wrx that he has been told should have 300awhp.. anytime I race him i'm beating him and i get off the gas (for traffic or because i figure 80 in a 35 is fast enough) then he passes me and tells people he beat me.. when.. i had been ahead the whole time before that.. so i have something against wrx's that claim they have 300awhp

It is a close race so its a quick car.. and my friend doesn't run his mouth about how amazing his car is.. and he also likes american muscle cars too so he is cool.. so I was just joking when I said all wrx owners think they have the best cars..

but what a car "should be" putting down and what it is putting down is totally different.. and he also is afraid of breaking his tranny so he wont go to the track with me.. but i'm sure if we meet someplace with no traffic and just do a 0-100 I'll probably be slightly ahead of him andfrom a roll wouldbe close.. until i get my LT headers, driveshaft and gears that is
