2009 Challenger
ORIGINAL: BrazoriaStang
The 2009's are out and they have 6 speed TR6060 trans with 3.92 gears with 375hp/404 tq as I have already said

they should be a tad faster than a stock S197 this year. They are all automatics with tall gears now right? Next year when they get the 6-speed manual and get some 4.10's on that bad boy, it should be good for mid-12's easy

i was speaking of the SRT. sorry for the miscommunication. The SRT'sare the ones that are only automatics with tall gears right now, correct. either way, i think that the R/T will still edge out the S197 when driven right

What are those? R/Ts? That is just pathetic... But, looking @ the 6 speed's time looks like he dorked the 60 foot pretty good, 2mph difference in trap, but almost a full second off in ET?

all that is out right now is he srt model. 6.1L, 3.08 rear diff, auto trans. they are still working on delivering the 08 models.
the rt model will come out later with the SE...i dont believe that i have seen any numbers as for as quarter mile times for the manual transmission models.
the normal times for the current challengers seems to be 13.1 to 13.2...but keep in mind, these cars have only been getting to the owners for the last few months, so most of them havent had much practice. like is true with the charger 6.1 models, 12s should be possible in stock form.

I think the Stang will have a good shoot at the R/T judging by how the present modelR/Ts perform. They usally run in the 14.0 to 14.5 range now. How much of a gain is 35HP and a 40 pound weight reduction worth? .2 to .3 tenths?

I've seen a few R/T's and V6's driving around Detroit.
