Speaking of big *** 4x4's that kill on the track... There is a guy here that races with us that has a 00 or 01 ford f 250 4x4 diesel, running on propane, a chip and a huge shot of laughing gas. His last run 2 weeks ago yielded an 8.26 in the 1/8th mile. I'm not really sure what else hehas done to it but when he runs its the event of the evening.

 

I wouldn't say my truck is fast either. It's a '93 F-150. 0-60 in like20 seconds. ¼ mile? I don't think my stopwatch can count that high.

 

Just remember that the new Ligthning hasnt come out yet....Supercharged 5.4</P>


delivering 500hp and equal amount of torque, i read an article were it ran a 12.2 in the 1/4....now thats fast for 4500lbs + truck</P>

 

Oh i forgot to mention that the Dodge SRT-10 Ram isnt fast as the new ligthning..</P>


in the article i read that the Ram ran a 13.8 in the 1/4...thats what ligthnings run now with only 380hp...so with 500hp they will be much faster</P>

Ford trucks are better than Dodge Rams.... I mean c'mon there is no Ram (Hemi)that can outran Harley, or an SRT-10 that would outrun the new ligthning</P>

 

Dodge kinda started the performance truck thing back in..hmmm early 70's with their Little Red Wagon..it was pretty sweet..Step side with a 340 ci motor with W-2 Mopar performance heads, cam etc. exhaust stacks like big 18 wheelers..kinda funky looking, but the truck did go fast for performance standards of that day..they were faster than a lot of muscle cars at the time IIRC!!!

Now I like the idea of having a kewl fast "Lightening" F150 truck...but I just read the September 2003 Motor Trend magazine and they had a V-10 powered Mustang that Team Mustang @ Ford built..interesting...no as fast as I would have thought, but I believe they had traction problems..LOL..!!!
