My brother has one, best completely stock time was a 13.30 @ around 105. He now has it tuned but has only done a best of 12.75 @ 109. He is sorting out some issues with the guy from vishnu that did his tune because his traps are somewhat low and is not seeing a lot of boost in fourth gear (florida heat sucks). Another major draw back is their one-wheel peel (excluding the xi).
ran one a couple months back, beat him pretty good. got a ricer fly by at over 100+ though lol
let me get this you beat a 335i . what mods you have on your V6.
on another note i lined up with one a couple months ago from a dig, he got off the line by at least a car but by the end of 4th gear i was side by side im pulling, had to shut down do to trafic. heres a copy of my dyno at 16 psi.
most of the BMW guys think our domestics are crap , then I point out the glory of the Ls1 and how some old beat up trucks here have 300 - 400K miles.
The mustang costs way less than the bimmer. Base price for one is $42,000.00 add $500 for any paint that has metallic in it, add a few thousand more for things like heated seats and Ipod connectivity etc etc and you're approaching $45K including destination charges...
hmm...$45K vs the $28 I paid. That's $17K more...yeah I would hope the Bimmer can keep up/beat a S197GT and keep up with/beat a GT500 with some mods.

I love my mustang and my brother knows I will crush his hopes and dreams in a drag race, but these cars aren't really comparable. BMW does not have the drag racer in mind when they designed the car. The interior, ride quality is far superior, as it should be, you get what you pay for. And for a BMW, the 335 is easily modible, as any FI car is. It's not like the 335's cost is solely based on it's performance, a lot of other aspects go into it. The best perk I get for my brother having his 335, I go with him to the dealership when he gets his car washed because they have a chef there that makes a free meal for you! You will never see that at a Ford dealership! Bottom line is, you get what you pay for, some like to pay for luxury, some like to pay for speed, and the lucky get both. You can't really compare cost when you only think about performance.
