Default My dragstrip is closing

George Howard will be closing Huntsville Dragway for the last time on October 26th, 2008.

This in no way will affect any of GHR's other facilities or races (i.e. Million Dollar Race).

He would like to thank all of fans, racers, and sponsors who have supported Huntsville Dragway.

The "Huntsville Economic Bailout" race has been cancelled and the 14th Turkey Trots will now take place at Montgomery Motorsports Park.

this really sucks, now i have to drag hours to race legally....oh well time for the **** nuts that built a house beside the track to reap what they sew!

You know I never understood that crap. People know when they are buying a house or building a house these facilities are right next to them (Airports, Drag strips, motocross tracks, etc...) But push real hard to get them closed once they move in...

Happened over here in VB Beach @ NAS Oceana, base has been there way before any of the houses, they bitched and moaned until they got BRAC to say they are gonna shut it down...

Then the city does a 180 on the issue because they realized all the money they'd lose... House owners haven't tho, mostly because the DoDs level the houses or we're closing it deal doesn't sit to well with them I say level the houses.

Sucks they shut your local drag strip down man.

I love the Mexico line that they feed especially when you watch the videos where you can clearly see exit/sign markers with interstate logos.
