I honestly think the OP will lose. I am not trying to put you down. Remember, a cobra convertible is not the lightest thing made. At the most your making 245rwhp(pushing it) while your friend is making prob. around 260rwhp(auto). I've seen bone stock 05+ auto stangs rip off 13.8-.9's pretty easy. On paper, you'd lose. However, just don't get cocky like your friend. Good luck!
My cousin gave me all these old MM&FF mags from the mid 90's. In one of them they tested a bone stock cobra(removed air filter, tire, jack, iced intake) and ran a 13.87@98. So the Cobra's are making some stout numbers. However, Evan Smith was driving, if that helps.

so take that, add the tire/jack/heavier rotors/wheels to it. then add the fact its a vert. then addits not evan smith driving, and you are looking at a low 14 car maybe.
takes a lot to drop 1 second off a car with just bolt ons without slicks of some sort.
idc if its under rated or not.... a stock 5.0 cobra with shorty headers (pretty much no gain), a chip (also almost no gain due to not major mods), and 4.11 gears, will NOT be able to beat a 05+ gt with a cai/tune...unless of course bad driving comes into play
