Stage "2" WRX taking out a LT1. From a roll. It was close, sure, but this was just a WRX not an STI.

 

what does stage 2 include?

 

You call that fast, fast is relative besides that was an LT1. And LS1 would have been ugly for that wrx

 

yes they can be that fast. I had some jackass last weekend try to get me to race him in the rain in a WRX. And people say Mustang drivers are morons.

Not so much for a WRX STi though, those things can run.

 

Beating a stock LT1 is almost a disappointment, haha. LT1's don't become lethal until serious modification, boring&stroking, yadda yadda. I love them all the same, but the performance on them is fairly shallow at best. That and I think I'm a little biased since I've grown to heavily dislike the LT1's for how easy it is for them to develop serious performance problems with only minor implications that occur. If you know them well though and keep a close eye on them they tend to run fairly good.. but for every one that runs good, 9 run like crap.

A shame really, but without the LT1 there wouldn't be an LS1 so there has to be some regard for respect there somewhere

 

i think most misundertood my statement, i did not mean that LT1s are slouch cuz they arent some have hit hight 13s, but to say that a stage II wrx is fast for beating a LT1 is too steep. I had a 3800 Sixer camaro 200hp and i loved it. I actually like the LT1s front fascia better than the catfish. DeltaElite is dead on they get fast once you start modding them Tspence can better addressed this

 

The LT1 is minimum 300hp stock.

I was under the impression that a stock STI was barely if any faster than a stock s197.

Apparently I have been misinformed? A stock s197 has no more hp than this LT1 and as you can see the stage 2 WRX is able to squeeze out a win. In a roll race no less. Which means a stage2 wrx should be faster, slightly, than a stock s197.

Embarrassing? I thought our cars were faster than this.
