Also Stone, did they ever come out with a real tuner for those cars or are they still a piggy back system?
I lied. It wasn't Motor Trend it was Road and Track nov. 2008 edition. The car dyno'd 236/267 stock and 260/295 with mazda CAI and catback. They also cut 2/10s off the 1/4 mile time and increased trap speed by 2 MPH. Thats not bad but getting the parts right from Mazda seams pricey. ($980 for intake & catback) You should be able to easily beat the price via aftermarket.

980 isnt too bad, my catback was 1200 plus 360 for the CAI last year. I see that Cobb has a down pipe for it and the aftermarket is growing for those cars now, once they get decent tuning and some nice cams I see these being quick little cars. I need to go take one for a spin and check 'em out.

Damn, I was only off by 30 whp, lol. I must of been getting the torque and HP numbers mixed up (excuses).

I lucked up and got my MazdaSpeed CAI from a MF member for $100. If anyone needs one, I've still got it.

The fastest ones I have seen on the forums are running GT35 turbos and only hitting the mid 12s... this one was no where near that lol. But it was still fun because 9/10 times people don't want to run for whatever reason... Honestly I felt sort of bad because he had to be pretty stock but the kids were cool so oh well.

good kill.. i raced a mazdaspeed 3 (intake) from a dig and from a roll.. from a dig i had i think 1-2 cars on him?? he couldnt reel me back in.. he spun a little, so i had the jump, and held him behind me.. than i kept 1-2 cars ahead all the way up to 100ish i think it was, he couldnt reel me back in.. so i won by about 2 carlengths

than we went from a 40 roll, or maybe it was a 50 roll? or maybe it was a 60 roll?? idk but whichever it was, i put a half car on him from the 3rd honk (i guess my torque pulled me ahead and his turbo wasn't spooled up?) and throughout 3rd and a little bit of 4th i put another 1/2 car on him and he couldn't reel me in again.. took that to 125ish (top of 4th) anf finished 1 car length ahead

so i would imagine it was ugly for your guy if you were racing him with that challenger lol. good kill
