Just wondering..... Today I was driving the stang and this guy driving a Cobalt SS get's beside me and he most def want's to play. I really wanted to give him a run but it was just too much traffic. His car looked stock. I heard that those cars are preety strong. especially from a roll. Do you guys think I could have taken him? Thanks

 

You would have killed him.

 

A supercharged one would have lost to you. The new Turbo'd one might have been closer, but I'd still have given you the edge, especially if it was a lower roll to about 100 or something.

It could have been teh N/A one from the last couple years. That would have been CLOSE!

 

from a dig or slow roll, yea I think you could, from a 40+ roll it would be close (if it is a newer model)

 

How fast do those cars run stock?

 

I think the turbo ones can run high 13's. Supercharged ones run mid-low 14's, but they have traction problems.

 

Depends on the model, the Supercharged SS's run 14.3-14.5's @ ~98-99 mph. The new SS/TC turbocharged ones run 13.9-14.0 @ ~104mph

 

With a current best of 13.6's@around 105-106

 

My car, I feel is capable of low 13's maybe with DR's high 12's. If I didn't screw up (missing a gear) I could have taken him. Have any of you guys raced a Cobalt SS?

 

You woulda got him man, what color was it by the way... I was gonna go out cruising tonight but just got done tinting my tailights and had to wet sand and polish them... looks sweet, but probably too dark dont know yet...
