Default One run Capability?

Well, since the track is about to open up in phoenix, or already is, idk, I was thinking about borrowing a set of DR's and heading up and seeing what I could do. Most of you guys know my set up, so I won't go through the trouble of listing it again.

I figured I'd launch at like 4,000RPM. I have pretty much all the supporting mods (ie IRS bracing, Viper spec T-56), and everything else to do it without having to worry about breaking anything.

I know my suspension isn't the dream setup for the strip, but I still think if I were to put the coilover on it's softest set up, i'd be able to weight transfer a little bit.

but here's the deal. The last time I ran at the strip, I didn't even see WOT until 3rd gear, just trying to maintain traction.

I figure running a better, sticky tire, I'd be able to see WOT in first gear. I don't really have to worry about gear, 3rd for me runs to about 130mph. SO if I really needed to, I could shift into fourth.

I think I could probably trap about 140 or so on good tires, being able to go WOT easier.

I'm thinking like a 1.3 60', and a low 10. What are your guys feelings?

Either way, I'm making one pass, and that's pretty much it. I don't feel like ragging my car out over and over again, I already know it's capable of quite a bit

If I had your car I wouldn't, I like how you've set it up for the course and I'd be ever so pissed if things went sideways at the strip and fvcked everything up...It's plenty fast, moreso than anything on the road so just take solace in that!

IMHO a 1.3 with a IRS set up is optimistic, IIRC this Cobra with a 9" rear pulled a 1.4 on a 9.93 pass and a fully set up 9" for drag racing

additionally to make that in one pass is a stretch as well IMHO, you need more seat time.

I'll be the first to congratulate you if you do it and I hope you prove my opinion wrong.

I have no idea what you'll run but setting the coil overs to their softest setting out back and a middle setting up front sounds like a good plan. I have to do thinks the opposite. Very hard in the back to try to fight the weight transfer away from my front wheels.

I don't think you'll see the 140 mark, maybe a mid 130's run from what i know about your car and it's setup. you do need a stickier tire for sure.
i do not think you'll be able to get a 1.3 low 1.4 most likely with your stiff suspension on the IRS, BUT the IRS IMO is a better or can be a better drag/ all around setup.

could you grab you low tens... im positive you could just not to positive your suspension will let you, being that your a curve cracker

Only one way to find out!!
Like said earlier, I doubt the 1.3 short time with the IRS and just a DR with only one pass. I'm also with USMC on the trap speed. I'm thinking mid 130s, 13mph more than what you have done is a huge difference to make up, even if you were *****-footin it before. Then again, this is all speculation. Let us know how it turns out! You should do at least two passes though, first one to get out all the jitters.

It will not see a 1.3 60 foot, my guess is a low 1.5. It won't put enough weight on the back tires to keep them planted. It certainly would not be able to pull a 1.3 on a drag radial. It will MPH like crazy though
