I recently watched a video where a guy shifted from 2nd to 1st at WOT and blew the motor, of course. This guy had a proshifted tranny like my old one. I think he even had an inline shifter. I can see how that can happen, if any of you have ever driven one. Anyhow, can our cars do that? Doesn't it block 1st gear out if you're at a high rpm in second?

yea..one time i was in 3rd about 4000 and short shifted into 4th kinda practicing my shifting..low and behold it goes into 2nd...motor hits the redline maybe 3 times before i push in the clutch..i felt pretty bad that day..

 

The c.a.g.s. won't let you do that in the Vette

 

What if you have a skip shift eliminator?

 

I suppose you would be the mercy of your shifting then...

 

I kinda figured so.......my **** is close together. The skipshift is for the 1-4 shift deal. It's easy to shift if you know anything at all about it. Kinda scary how easy it is. Corvette gearbox FTW.

 

I still don't think you can shift from 2nd to 1st at WOT unless you have a straight cut gear car.
