Default Drag strip question

So it sounds like now that I am FI and a vert, I won't be allowed to run the 1/4 mile due to being too fast with a vert/no rollbar. I am guessing I will be ok until that first run is over, depending on how strict the facility is.

my main question is, would I have the same problem at an 1/8 mile track, since top speed would be slower? And could I just run hard at a 1/4 mile track for the first 1/8 to get a time, and let off?

In case you can't tell, I have never been to the track, but really want to give it a try a couple times this spring/summer.

Plenty of people get on the brakes at the end of the 1/4 to stay out of trouble with the track staff.

It is much easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. If you have some good tires and can make the car hook, I say run it ***** out and see what it will do. If it is your first time at the track, don't worry about reaction time. Just get a good clean run in.

Sounds like good advice to me.

really depends on the track, @ tech you'll be told 13.49 is the limit and if you break it they could toss u. try and feel out the tech guy about how strict they are

or run 1/8ths and then when ur ready to leave and have some practice, rip one off and leave quitely

my .02 from a guy with a 11sec vert and no bar

depends on the track.......I went to the Blue Suede Cruise at Norwalk and there was some woman in a T-bucket, no roll bar, no helmet, doubt if she even had a seat belt running high 8s. Just crazy......

It depends on the track, call them in advance and ask.
